About
I’m Bryan, a developer in North Carolina. Backwoods Development is the name I publish my software under. It’s just me: I write the code, put the apps on Google Play, and answer the email.
Most of what I make falls into three groups:
- Android apps, like Carolina Crime Codex, an offline reference for North Carolina criminal statutes, and WordBridge, a daily word puzzle.
- Developer tools, like PineSSH, an SSH client for Android, and RepoDock, which builds and runs GitHub projects in Docker.
- Open-source projects on GitHub, including Gremlin and LogCrush.
I also write agent skills: instruction sets that coding agents can follow for a specific kind of job.
Privacy and support
Every app I publish has its own privacy policy, linked from its project page and from the footer of this site. If something is broken or confusing, tell me. Bug reports come straight to me.
